Accolades, Encomiums For Francis Ewherido, ‘Life Lessons From Mudipapa’ At Book Launch
It has been an avalanche of accolades and praises for author and renown columnist, Francis Ewherido and his recently launched compendium on courtship, marriage, parenting, investing, retirement-‘Life Lessons From Mudipapa.’
For Chief Johnson Modika Barovbe, the book is the kind you ‘own’. “Own here means you can relate with the content. The main character of the book, Chief Julius Ferdinand Mudiaga Orien, did his reflections at 64 (years). I am older than 64 but the message in this book resonates with me as a Niger Deltan, as a Lagosian, a retiree, a Christian of the Catholic faith, a husband, a father, a businessman and a school proprietor.”
In his Forward to the book, Fr. Augustine O. Akubeze, the Catholic Archbishop of Benin City and President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria captured the author and the book this way: “The author employs a rare combination of academic and simple expressions to convey the obvious reality in most families. He identified the challenges of forming children in the family. He proposed ways for parents to infuse and inculcate into their children how to have the right orientation towards healthy courtship. A courtship that is not reduced to sexual adventurism, but one that seeks to explore legitimate ways to understand each other in a healthy relationship, so that the couple can mutually give to each other the proper ingredients required for a valid and successful married life. In this way, the book helps parents on the issue of education of children in preparation for courtship. It helps to train children to be able to face challenges that comes with courtship and to avoid falling prey to manipulation during this period.”
For the book reviewer, Sunny Awhefeada-a Professor of Literature and Dean, Faculty of Arts, Delta State University, Abraka, “Francis Ewherido has come in ‘as writer as counselor.’ Life Lessons From Mudipapa published by Laddertop Publishers and made up of 31 chapters running into 256 pages will be useful in a multiciplicity of domains, sociology, psychology, literature, marriage counselling, church, education, parenting, mentoring and much more. The book will be very useful in a society grappling with social crises occasioned by a fast paced modernity and socio-economic anemia. The book will help to consolidate the ideals of marriage and family values,” he emphasized.
Commenting on the success of the book launch, PR Guru and Managing Director of BlueFlower PR, Chido Nwakanma enthused: “the fundamental Fs were evident (at the launch). I postulate that there are five Fs in our lives : faith, family, friends, fame and fortune. The first three are foundational, the last two are bonus. Francis Ewherido grabbed all five yesterday.”
The event which held amidst glitz, pomp and pageantry in the palatial hall of the Bankers House Building at Victoria Island Lagos, had movers and shakers of the society in attendance. The launch had Olorogun Moses Taiga, President-General of Urhobo Progress Union (Worldwide) as the Father of the Day was Chaired by Chief Johnson Modika Barovbe, a prolific educationist, philanthropist and proprietor of the prestigious Westminster College, Lagos, and had Engineer Chuka Eche, former Enugu APC Governorship Aspirant and Business, as the Chief Presenter.
