FRSC Appoints Ann Oladayo as First Female Zonal Commanding Officer for Lagos and Ogun

Assistant Corps Marshal Ann Oladayo has taken up her role as the inaugural female Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO) for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS.2 Zone, overseeing operations in Lagos and Ogun states. This historic appointment marks a significant milestone for the zone, which was first led by former Corps Marshal Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi over 30 years ago and has since been commanded exclusively by men, most recently by ACM Adeoye Irelewuyi.

Oladayo brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having served in various high-profile roles within the FRSC. She previously held the position of Corps Commander for the National Driver’s License (NDL), where she managed the system’s integrity and coordination nationwide. Additionally, she led the FRSC Print Farm (Data Centre), overseeing the production and distribution of driver’s licenses across Nigeria.

Her leadership extended to the National Road Safety Advisory Council (NaRSAC) Secretariat, where she coordinated efforts among federal and state agencies to enhance road safety, mobility, post-crash care, and infrastructure. Under her guidance, the NaRSAC aligned Nigeria’s road safety policies with the UN Decade of Action and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while also spearheading the development of the Nigeria Road Safety Strategy (NRSS) II for 2021–2030.

With nearly 30 years of expertise in road safety and security administration, Oladayo holds three master’s degrees in Geography, Peace, and Security Studies, and is currently pursuing a doctorate. Her career highlights include serving as Head of Operations for the Ondo State Sector Command, where she managed patrols, discipline, and operational control for over two years. She also led the Information Processing Centre (IPC) in Oyo State, ensuring the integrity of the National Uniform Licensing Scheme, and served as Unit Commander and Head of Intelligence for the Oluyole Unit Command in Oyo State. Additionally, she held the role of Zonal Surveillance Officer across Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa states.

A distinguished professional, Oladayo is a Fellow of the Security Institute (fsi), a member of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), and an Associate Fellow of the International Strategic Management Institute. Her appointment signals a new chapter for the FRSC as she leads efforts to enhance road safety in Lagos and Ogun states.
