Out-of-Home Innovation Takes Centre Stage as Nigeria’s LOMA Awards Opens Entries

OOH Academy Nigeria has announced the opening of entries for the 2025 Location Marketing Awards (LOMA). The awards are calling on agencies, brands, media owners, technology providers, content creators, and creative professionals to showcase their most innovative out-of-home (OOH) campaigns and advancements.
Entry submissions will be accepted from July 14 to August 4, 2025. Eligible work must have been executed between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025. The awards retain their established two-stage process: an online application and submission of supporting materials for shortlisted entries.
Participants can find comprehensive guidelines, categories, eligibility criteria, and submission details at (http://www.oohacademyng.com/loma-2025).

Now in its third year, the LOMA Awards aim to celebrate excellence across Nigeria’s vibrant OOH sector—covering creative storytelling, ad-tech innovation, and operational excellence.
Kingsley Onwukaeme, Convener of LOMA Awards, emphasized the awards’ role in uncovering hidden industry talent and fostering innovation. “LOMA has been instrumental in recognizing outstanding work that might otherwise go unnoticed. We’ve set a global standard in encouraging creative and technological breakthroughs in Nigeria’s OOH space. Our goal remains to reward brilliance, promote bold ideas, and nurture an ecosystem of innovation,” he said.
He also highlighted the diverse jury panel, which includes both Nigerian and international experts, ensuring a balanced and impartial evaluation process. The panel for 2025 features industry leaders such as Gideon Adey (Gurooh LTD, UK), Ogu Chidi (Outdoor Warehouse Nigeria), Livia Brown (what3things, South Africa), Rajiv Raghunath (Wellversed Media, India), and Papa Blankson-Anaman (Publicis West Africa, Ghana).

Categories for entry include Creator and Commerce, Campaign of the Year, Ad-Tech, Media Audit, Sales & Operations, Rising Star, Brands, and Individual Achievement. The Creator and Commerce category recognizes content creators leveraging digital and OOH platforms to make an impact.
This year’s awards have garnered strong support from key industry partners. Absen, a leader in LED display technology, and Polygon, a prominent programmatic DOOH network, are continuing their support from previous editions. Moving Walls, an innovative ad-tech firm, joins as an official partner for the first time.

Representatives from Absen expressed pride in supporting Nigeria’s OOH revolution, stating, “It’s an exciting time to champion the talent and innovation shaping the sector.”

The 2025 LOMA Awards will culminate in a prestigious awards ceremony and industry conference scheduled for September 25-26, 2025, in Ikeja, Lagos. The event will feature networking sessions, breakout discussions, exhibitions, and opportunities for industry stakeholders to connect, learn, and celebrate.
