Uzo Odenigbo Takes Charge as Corporate Affairs Director at Nigerian Breweries, Succeeding Sade Morgan

Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s leading brewing company, has appointed Uzo Odenigbo as its new Corporate Affairs Director, effective May 1, 2025. Odenigbo takes over from Sade Morgan, who has been promoted to a global role as Heineken’s Corporate Affairs Director for Africa and the Middle East.
The announcement was made by Hans Essaadi, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries. Odenigbo has been with the company since 2017, during which time he has played a key role in Public, External & Government Affairs. Initially serving as Public Affairs Manager for Southern Nigeria, he later advanced to oversee nationwide public affairs efforts and provide strategic guidance for the Regional Corporate Affairs Managers.
Notably, Odenigbo has successfully developed and implemented a stakeholder engagement and communications framework as part of the 2024 Nigerian Breweries business recovery plan, which resulted in seamless operations and minimized negative media coverage.
In 2024, as part of his professional growth, Odenigbo participated in a Short Term Assignment as the Corporate Affairs Director for Brarudi. During this period, he led multiple initiatives, including a reputation campaign focused on sustainability, improved internal communications, and advocacy efforts to mitigate adverse tax implications in the East African Community. His leadership in Burundi also strengthened the capabilities of the Corporate Affairs team and helped operationalize the 2025 CA playbook to ensure continued success after his return to Nigeria.
Odenigbo holds an MBA and a PhD in Mass Communications and is dedicated to building emotional connections and exploring new frontiers while maintaining an active lifestyle.
