Nigeria’s Health Minister to Open WHX Lagos & WHX Labs Lagos 2025 as Sector Leaders Convene
The future of healthcare and laboratory science in West Africa will take center stage in Lagos from June 2-4, 2025, as WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos 2025 convenes at the Landmark Centre. The event, formerly known as Medic West Africa and Medlab West Africa, marks its 12th year with a renewed focus on opportunity, engagement, and transformation across the region.
The prestigious event will be officially opened by the Honourable Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, underscoring the government’s commitment to advancing the health sector. WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos brings together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including policymakers, clinicians, laboratory scientists, investors, and innovators, to explore the latest advancements, policy changes, and sustainable healthcare delivery models.
Tom Coleman, Director of WHX Lagos and WHX Labs Lagos, highlighted the event’s strong industry backing and international relevance. “Building on a solid foundation of trust and supported by the Federal Ministry of Health and other key industry bodies, we are particularly excited about this year’s speaker lineup,” he stated. “It reflects our dedication to fostering a diverse, cross-sectoral dialogue led by some of Africa’s most respected thought leaders and innovators.”
The 2025 edition boasts an impressive roster of confirmed speakers from across the continent. Notable figures include Professor Nicaise Ndembi, Deputy Director-General and Africa Regional Director at the International Vaccine Institute; Dr. Mories Atoki, CEO of the African Business Coalition for Health; and Hon. Dr. Anthony L. Fortune, Assistant Minister of Health for Vital Statistics, Liberia. The event will also feature insights from Timi Omole, Executive Director of the International Association of Public Health Logisticians, alongside cultural and medical influencers such as celebrated Nigerian actor and entrepreneur Joke Silva and medical influencer Dr. Egemba Chinonso (Aproko Doctor).
