OAAN Announces New Executive Council Members
Following the successful conclusion of the 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Out Of Home Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) and the election of a new executive council to lead the organisation for the next two years, the association has issued a formal press release to introduce its new leadership team.
The President, Mr. Sola Akinsiku, FRPA, expressed his confidence in the newly elected members, describing them as a strong and reliable team capable of guiding the association forward.
Joining him to steer the association are: Mr. Omo Abunene, FRPA, as Vice President; Mr. Babs Fagade, FRPA, as Publicity Secretary; Mr. Chinweuba Nwagu, RPA, as Treasurer and Immediate Past President; Chief Emmanuel Ajufo, FRPA, serving in a constitutional capacity as Immediate Past President; Mr. Churchill Nwagwu, RPA; Mrs. Adeola Odesanya, RPA; Chief George Onwujiariri, RPA; Mr. Ambose Nbodim, RPA; Mr. Thaddeus Ukpe, RPA; Mr. Kayode Akanbi, RPA; and Mrs. Modupe Adewuyi, RPA, as Ex-Officio members.
In his remarks, Mr. Akinsiku clarified that the positions of General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary are no longer provided for in the OAAN Constitution. Instead, these roles will be combined into the functions of the upcoming Executive Secretary, whose appointment will be announced shortly.
“Our constitution stipulates the appointment of an Executive Secretary, which has rendered the separate roles of General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary redundant,” he explained.
On his re-election, Mr. Akinsiku expressed appreciation for the confidence shown by the electorate, viewing it as a testament to their trust in his leadership team. Looking ahead, he reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the association’s interests over the next two years.
“We are well aware of our current position on various issues; we recognise the emerging challenges and the progress we have made on key matters. Our focus remains on fostering professionalism within our sector. We will persist in pursuing the OAAN Charter, and I believe we are closer than ever to realising it. With the grace of God, very soon, there will be cause for celebration,” he stated.
