Scammers Using Chairman’s Name on WhatsApp to Deceive Investors, Access Holdings Alerts Public

A recent scam alert has emerged involving fraudsters impersonating Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, to deceive individuals into fake investment schemes. The scammers have established a WhatsApp group named “Value Focus Club 60” using the phone number +234 915 708 8290 and have even used a photograph of Mr Aig-Imoukhuede to lend credibility to their scheme.
In a clear warning, a whistleblower exposed the scam, emphasising that the Chairman is “NOT on WhatsApp running any investment group”, and that “Access Holdings does NOT offer investment advice via WhatsApp.” The company has confirmed that any messages claiming to be from Mr Aig-Imoukhuede on WhatsApp are “100% fake.”
The company urges the public to exercise caution and avoid engaging with the scam group. Authorities are actively working to shut down the operation, but experts stress the importance of awareness in preventing further victimisation.
Individuals are advised to:
– Refrain from joining the group or responding to any messages from the number
– Never share personal or banking details
– Block and report the number on WhatsApp
– Notify others to prevent potential scams
This warning serves as a reminder to remain vigilant against social engineering scams. Please share this information with friends and family to help protect them from falling prey to fraudsters.
