EMCOAN Inducts Media Icons Wale Adenuga and Yinka Adebayo as Patrons

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has fortified its leadership and institutional heritage by formally inducting legendary producer Mr Wale Adenuga, Founder of Wale Adenuga Productions as Grand Patron and media heavyweight Mr Yinka Adebayo, Group Executive Director at Omnicom Media Group as a Patron.
The investiture took place during a high-profile induction ceremony held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), marking a historic milestone for the 14-year-old association.
The event, which saw the induction of 48 new and returning members, was described by EMCOAN President Adeniji Omirin as a “day of unity, love, and honour”. Omirin emphasised that the gathering served as a pivotal moment for content owners to come under one umbrella and “speak in one voice”. He paid special tribute to Wale Adenuga, “dobaleing” (bowing) in a traditional sign of respect to thank the veteran producer for his unwavering dedication to the unity of the association.
The ceremony was attended by a “who’s who” of the Nigerian media and regulatory landscape, including Charles Ebuebu, Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), and Dr Olalekan Fadolapo, Director General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) represented by Director of Regulation Mrs. Emme Akande.
Dr Opa Williams, Chairman of the EMCOAN Board of Trustees, noted that the association’s members are currently responsible for supplying at least 80% of the content seen across Nigerian media.
The induction of Mr Adenuga and Mr Adebayo is seen as a strategic move to bridge the gap between veteran experience and contemporary media practice.
As part of the proceedings, the new inductees were presented with certificates, mufflers, and copies of the association’s constitution and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
