Polaris Bank’s “Bring Your Child to Work” Program Fosters Curiosity, Collaboration, and Family Bonds

Polaris Bank has hosted children of its employees to a memorable day filled with fun, learning, and workplace discovery, reinforcing its dedication to strengthening employee engagement and fostering meaningful experiences for staff and their families.
The “Bring Your Child to Work” initiative, which welcomed children aged six years and above, offered young participants a unique opportunity to see their parents’ workplace from a new perspective. They explored where their parents work, met colleagues, and gained a clearer understanding of daily professional life.
Selected through an internal trivia draw conducted for staff, the children engaged in various activities designed to spark learning, creativity, networking, interaction, teamwork, and curiosity.
A key feature of the programme was a guided tour of the Bank’s premises. The children visited the banking hall and various departments, giving them a firsthand experience of the banking environment and understanding how different teams and functions contribute to the Bank’s operations. This interactive visit also allowed them to connect with employees and learn about the diverse roles within a financial institution.
Speaking at the event, Kayode Lawal, MD/CEO of Polaris Bank, welcomed the children, encouraging them to make the most of the experience. “At Polaris Bank, we believe that work is more than meetings and desks. It is about solving problems, helping people, making life easier, learning, and making a meaningful contribution. So, while you are here today, be curious, ask questions, learn, and most importantly, have fun.”
Represented by Olanrewaju Oyekunle, Head of HR, the CEO emphasized that the programme was designed to help children understand their parents’ professional lives while inspiring them to envision their own future possibilities. “Who knows? Perhaps one day, some of you will become bankers, entrepreneurs, doctors, engineers, technology experts, or even leaders of great organisations.”
Another exciting part of the day was an interactive pep talk session led by Abimbola Ozomah, the bank’s Executive Director, Corporate & Investment Banking. She introduced the children to the fundamentals of banking in a simple and engaging manner.
During the session, the children learned how banks operate, the importance of saving money, responsible financial habits, and how banks support individuals and businesses in managing their finances. The interactive nature of the session encouraged them to ask questions and share insights, making learning both fun and memorable.
Throughout the programme, children connected with one another, sharing experiences and new knowledge, further enriching the experience. They were encouraged to make new friends and deepen their understanding of the banking environment.
For participating parents, the initiative provided a unique chance to share an important aspect of their daily lives with their children, helping them appreciate the values of work, responsibility, collaboration, and service.

The programme also emphasized the importance of curiosity and continuous learning, encouraging children to explore, ask questions, and consider various career paths.
Polaris Bank’s “Bring Your Child to Work” initiative exemplifies its ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and engagement. By creating opportunities for employees to share their workplace experiences with their families, the Bank fosters an inclusive, people-focused culture where employees and their families feel valued and connected.
For the children, the day was more than a visit to their parents’ workplace; it was an inspiring opportunity to learn, explore the world of banking, make new friends, and see their parents as professionals contributing to the organization’s growth and success.
