OPay NYSE IPO Put on Hold, Customers Can Continue Transactions Without Disruption

By Festus Edovia
OPay Limited has put its planned initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange on hold following an ongoing regulatory inquiry, but says customers should expect no disruption to its services.
The company made this known in a statement issued to its customers, business partners and the general public, explaining that the decision was taken after considering the circumstances surrounding the inquiry.
OPay said the postponement was in the best interests of the business and its stakeholders as it allows the regulatory process to continue.
However, the fintech firm was quick to clarify that the development would not affect its day-to-day operations in Nigeria or its other markets.
According to the company, its platforms remain fully functional, and customers can continue accessing its services without any changes.
This means users can still transfer and receive money, pay for services, save funds and carry out other financial transactions through OPay’s platforms.
The company’s clarification is aimed at reassuring customers, merchants and agents that the decision concerning its proposed stock market listing does not signal any interruption to its financial services.
OPay also acknowledged the support of its customers, business partners, merchants, agents and employees, expressing appreciation for their continued loyalty and confidence.
It reiterated that its commitment to promoting financial inclusion through technology remains unchanged, with a focus on making financial services more convenient, reliable and accessible.
