Fidelity Bank Partners with CANEX WKND 2026 to Back Africa’s Creative Economy

Fidelity Bank Plc is partnering with the 2026 edition of Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX WKND) as an Official Trade Partner, highlighting its support for Nigeria’s creative economy and the businesses driving it.
The four-day event runs from November 5 to 8, 2026, at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, National Theatre Complex, Lagos. Under the theme, “One People, United in Culture, Creating for the World,” it will bring together creative entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and policymakers.
At the event, Fidelity Bank will present the Fidelity Creativerse under the theme, “Where Creativity Meets Business Opportunity”. Attendees can meet the Bank’s representatives and learn about its banking, payment and business solutions. The stand will also provide a space for creative entrepreneurs, business owners and industry stakeholders to explore growth opportunities and make industry connections.
Fidelity Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe said the Bank is backing the creative economy because of its strategic role in advancing Nigeria’s economic objectives and international trade.
“Africa’s creative economy represents an important opportunity for enterprise, job creation, innovation and trade. Unlocking this potential requires a strong ecosystem that develops talent, supports viable business structures and connects entrepreneurs to finance, partnerships and markets.
“At Fidelity Bank, we understand the role financial institutions must play in building this ecosystem. Our participation at CANEX WKND reflects our commitment to helping creative entrepreneurs transform their talents into sustainable businesses that can compete successfully in local and international markets”, explained Onyeali-Ikpe.
Onyeali-Ikpe will also speak at a session titled, “Building the Capital Stack for Africa’s Creative Economy”. Her presentation will address the skills, infrastructure, market access, institutional support and financing needed to develop bankable creative enterprises.
The Bank will host a workshop, “Fueling Visions, Creating Impact”, on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Bringing together professionals from banking, filmmaking, photography, fashion, content creation and music, the session will explore how creative talent can be developed into commercially viable businesses.
The CANEX WKND partnership builds on Fidelity Bank’s wider work to support creative entrepreneurs. Through the Fidelity Nigeria International Trade and Creative Connect (FNITCC), its global trade platform, the Bank has connected Nigerian businesses and creative entrepreneurs with international buyers, investors and strategic partners.
The Bank also offers practical training through Creativerse and the Fidelity SME Hub. Courses cover areas including cinematography, mobile video editing, fashion styling, beauty, voice-over work and public speaking, helping participants build commercially relevant skills and sustainable businesses.
An initiative of the African Export Import Bank, CANEX WKND connects creative professionals with investors, buyers, policymakers and industry leaders. The 2026 programme will include exhibitions, panel discussions, performances, deal rooms, masterclasses and business networking sessions.
