AXA Mansard Health Champions Early Cancer Detection at World Cancer Day Webinar

AXA Mansard Health, Nigeria’s foremost health management organisation and part of the AXA Group, reaffirmed its dedication to preventive healthcare at its 2026 World Cancer Day webinar. The session aimed to demystify cancer screening and address the fears that often prevent many Nigerians from seeking early diagnosis.

Focusing on reducing anxiety and bolstering public confidence in screening, the webinar assembled AXA Mansard’s medical, wellness, and insurance specialists to challenge myths, emotional barriers, and financial concerns that discourage timely testing. The discussion centred on the persistent fears that hold individuals back from early screening, despite strong evidence that early detection greatly enhances treatment success.

Commenting on the purpose of the event, Tope Adeniyi, CEO of AXA Mansard Health, stated:

“At AXA Mansard Health, our commitment goes beyond just providing access to quality healthcare to our customers. It includes ensuring that our customers and the public feel informed, supported, and confident enough to act on their health when required. This aligns with our purpose as an organisation and our commitment to our communities and business environment. Far too many Nigerians delay or avoid cancer testing due to fear, and we believe educative sessions like this webinar are powerful tools in changing that narrative.”

Participants were provided with straightforward, practical insights into modern screening methods, emotional and psychological considerations, and how accessible health insurance can minimise uncertainty and foster proactive health decisions. By combining clinical expertise with empathetic guidance and financial clarity, the session created a supportive environment that empowered attendees to take control of their wellbeing.

Jadesola Idowu, COO of AXA Mansard Health, echoed the CEO’s sentiments, emphasising the importance of holistic support systems that encourage individuals to prioritise their health:

“Wellness requires a balance of emotional, mental, and financial security. Many people want to do the right thing for their health, but don’t know where to start. Through open, empathetic conversations like this, we hope to help people realise that screening is not something to fear but something to embrace.”

The webinar underscores AXA Mansard Health’s long-standing dedication to promoting preventive healthcare and fostering a healthier, better-informed society. By empowering Nigerians with reliable information, accessible tools, and emotional reassurance, the organisation continues to strengthen public trust and advocate early action as a vital step in the fight against cancer.
