Call for Nominations: PSHAN Awards 2025 Celebrates Nigeria’s Healthcare Innovators


The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) has announced that nominations are now open for the third edition of its prestigious Annual Gala & Awards Night. The event aims to recognize outstanding individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are driving positive change and innovation within Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.
This year’s awards, themed “Champions for Change: Celebrating Impact,”, seek to highlight those making significant contributions to improving health outcomes and fostering community-driven solutions across Nigeria. Members of the public are encouraged to nominate deserving candidates—residents or impactful contributors within Nigeria—at no cost.

Categories & Focus Areas
The 2025 awards feature 25 subcategories within five main categories:
– Public Sector Leadership: Recognizing government agencies for impactful public health initiatives
– Media & Digital Communications: Honoring excellence in health storytelling and digital influence
– Grassroots & Community Organizations: Highlighting local NGOs and healthcare providers making a difference at the community level
– Individuals: Celebrating health advocates, clinicians, and innovators
– Private Sector: Recognizing leadership and innovation in healthcare partnerships and entrepreneurship
An independent panel comprising experts from academia, public health, media, and the private sector will oversee the judging process to ensure fairness and merit.

Eligibility
Nominees must reside in Nigeria or demonstrate tangible impact within the country. Individuals must be at least 18 years old. Multiple nominations are allowed across categories, but self-nominations are not permitted. Criteria include demonstrated impact, innovation, sustainability, and alignment with health equity goals.
Past Honorees
Previous awardees include the Lagos State Ministry of Health, WHO’s Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, Ekiti State’s Health Commissioner Dr. Filani Oyebanji, pharmaceutical pioneer Dr. Stella Okoli, grassroots health advocate Dr. Chinonso Egemba, and health tech innovator Ifeoluwa Dare-Johnson.
