Lagos NIPR’s PR Fest 2025 Set to Tackle Urban Food Challenges and Strategic Communication

The Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has officially announced the launch of **PR Fest 2025**, a week-long celebration emphasizing communication, creativity, culture, and community involvement. The event was unveiled during the Chapter’s Monthly Meeting and PR Clinic held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Eko FM Multipurpose Hall in Agidingbi, Ikeja.

Scheduled to run from Friday, August 8 to Thursday, August 14, 2025, PR Fest 2025 centers around the theme:
**“Urban Farming for Food Security: The Role of Communication.”**

The festival aims to highlight how strategic communication and public relations can promote sustainable urban agriculture, increase awareness about food security challenges, and inspire positive behavioral change within Lagos’s metropolitan communities.

**Key activities planned for PR Fest 2025 include:**

– PR Practitioners Hangout & African Night
– Media Tour of Lagos Tourist Attractions and a Documentary on Urban Farming in Lagos
– Mentorship Sessions for Students and Young PR Professionals
– Launch of PR and Leadership Clubs in Lagos Higher Institutions
– PR Sports Festival and Fitness Competitions Across Sectors
– Annual General Meeting, Special Communication Lecture, and Elections

During the unveiling, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, FNIPR and Chairman of the Lagos Chapter, emphasized the importance of the festival:
“This year’s PR Fest takes a bold step by linking the practice of communication with one of society’s most urgent issues—food security. Through this platform, we aim to leverage storytelling and community engagement to advocate for sustainable solutions.”

Olabamiji Adeleye, Chair of the planning committee, called on stakeholders, sponsors, and partners to participate actively in this impactful initiative. He stressed that PR Fest 2025 is an opportunity to shape narratives, foster collaborations, and promote a healthier, food-secure Lagos.
