NIPR Calls for Nomination for 5th National Spokespersons Awards

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), in collaboration with Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR), the publishers of PRNigeria and Spokespersons Digest, has officially launched the nomination process for the 5th National Spokespersons Awards (NSA). This esteemed event aims to honour outstanding spokespersons who have exemplified excellence, transparency, and effective communication within their sectors.
To facilitate this annual celebration, NIPR has established two essential committees: the Award Planning Coordinating Committee and the Adjudication Committee.
Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, Vice President of NIPR, announced the appointment of Segun McMedal, former Chairman of the Lagos NIPR, as the Chairman of the Award Planning Coordinating Committee, with retired Comptroller Joseph Attah serving as Vice Chairman. The committee also includes members Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, Saad Shuaib, Ikalone Udo, and Secretary Stanley Ogadigo.
Leading the Adjudication Committee is Dr. Shuaibu Husseini, Executive Director/CEO of the National Film and Video Censors Board, with Prof. Anthony Igyuve as Vice Chairman. Other members are Prof. Saudat Abdulbaqi, Hajia Lami Tumaka, Kabir Abdulsalam, Ishola Ayodele, and Member/Secretary Abdulrahman Abdulraheem.
This year’s awards will feature 22 categories, recognizing individuals and teams that have significantly impacted the management of narratives, reputations, and public trust. “This year’s edition promises to be the most competitive yet, as we seek to honor the finest communicators who have shaped public perception through strategic communication,” stated Segun McMedal, Chairman of the Organizing Committee. He encouraged public relations professionals and communication enthusiasts to submit nominations across various categories, including Outstanding Spokesperson of the Year, Outstanding Government Spokesperson (Federal and State levels), and Outstanding Corporate Spokesperson.
Sector-specific excellence awards will also be given in categories such as Security, Banking, Insurance, Health, Education, Digital Economy, Marine & Blue Economy, Power, Oil & Gas, and Hospitality. Additional noteworthy categories include Distinguished Crisis Management Spokespersons (Public and Private Sectors), Most Influential Corporate Voice, Best Corporate Share of Voice (Social Media), Best Corporate Spokesperson Team, and Most Supportive CEO to Spokespersons (Public and Private Sectors).
