Sanwo-Olu to Lead Lagos Delegation at FNITCC Atlanta 2025

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will spearhead the delegation representing Lagos at the upcoming 2025 Fidelity Nigeria International Trade & Creative Connect (FNITCC) in Atlanta. The event, organized by Fidelity Bank Plc, aims to showcase Lagos as Africa’s largest economy and foster international trade, investment, and cultural exchanges.
In a statement released over the weekend, Fidelity Bank highlighted that Governor Sanwo-Olu will leverage the platform to promote Lagos’s strategic economic position and explore potential sister city agreements with Atlanta and the State of Georgia, strengthening ties between Nigeria and the United States.
“Lagos is a hub of enterprise, innovation, and opportunity,” Sanwo-Olu remarked. “At FNITCC Atlanta, we will demonstrate Lagos’s economic strength and build bridges of trade, investment, and cultural collaboration with Atlanta and beyond. Our goal is to position Lagos as a truly global city where growth and partnerships thrive.”
The event, scheduled for September 18-20, 2025, and hosted in partnership with AFRICON—an international forum for African innovators—is expected to draw over 3,000 participants, including investors, trade officials, diaspora professionals, and exporters. The conference is projected to facilitate over US$500 million in trade and investment transactions.
Fidelity Bank’s CEO, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, expressed pride in hosting the Lagos delegation and emphasized the opportunities for Lagos to expand its reach in the global marketplace. “Lagos, as Africa’s economic giant, is poised to leverage this platform to promote Nigerian products and strengthen ties with American markets,” she noted.
The event will feature workshops, seminars, and panels with notable industry leaders such as Mustafa Chike-Obi, Aishah Ahmad, Abba Bello, and Olasunkanmi Owoyemi. Highlights include dedicated deal rooms, an exhibition of African products across various sectors, and matchmaking sessions connecting US buyers and investors with African businesses.
