Sterling HoldCo Reports ₦62.3 Billion Profit in Nine Months, Up 127%

According to the unaudited financial results, Sterling HoldCo delivered a profit of ₦341.7 billion, a testament to its resilience and ability to adapt to changing market conditions. Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc (Sterling HoldCo) announced its unaudited financial results for the nine months ending September 30, 2025, showcasing a remarkable 127% year-on-year increase in profit after tax (PAT) to ₦62.3 billion. This growth underscores the Group’s strong earning capacity, operational efficiency, and disciplined execution across its diverse financial services.

The Group’s gross earnings climbed by 44.1%, reaching ₦341.7 billion compared to ₦237.2 billion in September 2024. This growth was driven by solid performances in both interest income, which increased by 38.7% to ₦262.4 billion, supported by expanded earning assets, and non-interest income, which surged by 65.1% to ₦79.2 billion, reflecting successful diversification of revenue streams.

Sterling HoldCo maintained a healthy balance sheet, with total assets rising by 15.5% from ₦3.54 trillion in December 2024 to ₦4.09 trillion in September 2025. Growth was driven by increases in loans, investment securities, and liquid assets. Customer deposits also grew by 14.3% to ₦2.88 trillion, while shareholders’ funds increased significantly by 32.9% to ₦405.5 billion, demonstrating the Group’s solid capital base and capacity for future expansion.

Commenting on the results, Yemi Odubiyi, Group CEO of Sterling Financial Holdings, stated: “Our nine-month performance in 2025 reflects the resilience and agility of our Group. The substantial profit growth highlights the success of our diversified financial strategy, leveraging both traditional banking and asset management subsidiaries to deliver sustained value.”

He added, “Our disciplined risk management, innovative product offerings, and focus on sectors with real economic impact remain central to our strategy. We also appreciate the confidence of our shareholders, exemplified by the successful public offering of 12.58 billion shares.”
