Zedcrest Partners with Lagos State Government, MacTay to Provide Jobs and Internships for ICT Graduates

Zedcrest Group, a leading financial services firm, has announced a strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government and MacTay to offer internship and entry-level employment opportunities to top graduates from the recently completed state-sponsored ICT skills training program.

The announcement was made by Oyinkansola Adeboye, Head of Brands and Communications at Zedcrest Group, during the graduation ceremony for the 2024 cohort at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Ikeja, Lagos.

Adeboye emphasized that the partnership reflects Zedcrest’s dedication to capacity building across various sectors, not just finance. She highlighted the company’s ongoing efforts to invest in initiatives that equip young Nigerians with vital skills for future success.

She also praised the Lagos State Government and MacTay for initiating the program, which she called crucial in bridging Nigeria’s digital skills gap among youth. Adeboye assured that Zedcrest is committed to supporting talented graduates and helping them excel in their careers.

Tunde Rotimi, Director of MacTay, explained that the training was developed in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment. He described the program as part of Lagos’s broader goal to prepare young people for the future of work by providing them with advanced digital skills essential in today’s technology-driven economy.

Rotimi noted that the curriculum was carefully crafted to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape and encouraged graduates to leverage their new skills to build successful careers.

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu highlighted the significance of the program and the partnerships that make it possible. He stated that the initiative aims to empower youth to become innovators and job creators who can seize global opportunities, transform local businesses, and drive economic growth.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, the governor revealed that over 3,000 applicants applied for the program in 2024. After a rigorous selection process, only 200 candidates were chosen. These graduates received comprehensive training as full-stack software engineers and data analysts, earning internationally recognized certifications that enhance their employability.

Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated the graduates on their achievement and urged them to serve as role models for resilience, innovation, and ambition as they forge their future careers.
