Idorenyen Re-Elected President as Akomolafe, Amachree, Others Join NIMN Council

The president of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), Idorenyen Enang has been re-elected for a second term in office.

Also, marketing professionals were elected into NIMN Council. They include Akomolafe Ayoola Obafemi, General Manager/Chief Operating Officer, Elkris Group;  Adenike Olufunke Olufade, MD/CEO of Digimage Consult and Chairman, NIMN Lagos Island Chapter; Amachree Sundayba Sandra, Head of Marketing Communications at Nigerian Breweries PLC; Hope Moninu Gbagi, Head of Sales for Intercontinental Distillers Limited.

They were elected at the NIMN annual marketing conference held at Fraser Suites, Abuja recently.

During the elections, Enang scored 100% of the total votes having garnered 354 votes of the 354 accredited voters, thus overwhelmingly fulfilling the constitutional requirement to be returned unopposed.

Earlier before the election, a conference was held with the theme “The Role of Marketing and Ethics in Nation Building” and was well attended by entrepreneurs, top government functionaries, and thought leaders in the world of business and marketing.

In his welcome address, Enang said, “As marketers, we just hope this will be a great opportunity for us to let the world know that we can do it, one thing I will say, I will echo the keynote speaker’s words that a time will come when the president, governors will not just be carrying journalist as spokespersons because they need professional brand communicators and specialist because people are brands, you need people that would not just sell the country, or the brand but understand the ethics of it.”
