EMCOAN Announces Date for 2024 NEMCEA, Opens Portal for Conference and Awards Registration

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has concluded plans to host the 2024 edition of its annual Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA) which will be held from August 7 to 8 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja.Lagos.

The association disclosed this at the press briefing held recently at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja. It explained that the 2-day event theme “Content Production and Evolving Technologies,  A Panacea for Growth in the Creative Economy” will be the largest gathering of content creators, broadcasting station owners,  advertisers,  policymakers,  entertainers, and other stakeholders from across the country,  continent and the world.

The NEMCEA website has also been opened for participants at various cadre levels whether as Exhibitors/Producers/Buyers/Regulators/Media/Sponsors/Volunteers to register at www.nemcea.com/register.

Speaking on plans for the forthcoming event,  President of EMCOAN, Adeniji Omirin said the third edition of the event will be bigger than the previous editions with international participants expected to attend.

“NEMCEA will help put Lagos, the host city, where the government wants it to be: at par with the other great film festival cities of the world, where people at home and abroad can come to find expertise and resources for electronic media content. This third edition promises to be top-notch in terms of quality of participation across all stakeholders in Nigeria and Africa.”

“This year’s central theme has been carefully curated by our in-house experts to look at issues currently in the faces of all stakeholders in the Industry. We can’t but speak to the emerging technologies as it is expected to impact content production and the creative economy of the country, “he stated.

Similarly, the Project Director and 1st Vice President of EMCOAN,  Chinedu Ugwu emphasized that NEMCEA has three major components which include Conferences, Content Marketing / Exhibitions, and Awards.

He explained further that seasoned industry professionals are billed to speak and share insights at the conference. They include Dr. Obi Emelonye, a lawyer and international producer / Director and Lecturer in the UK,  Dr. Ken Onyeali-Ikpe – a well-rounded media guru and a faculty at Pan Atlantic University; Dr. Tayo Oyedeji the group CEO of Insight Redefini Group an integrated Marketing Communications conglomerate, Mr. Yinka Adebayo; Mr. Dozie Okafor, Mr. Steve Onaivi; Kunle Afolayan; Moses Babatope, Osemede, Uwubanmwen, NiyiAkimonsolaya, Rotimi Pedro, Mahmood Balogun and the list goes on and others.

Ugwu also stated that the Content Market / Exhibitions provides content aggregators and producers the opportunity to interact, network, and trade. Television stations and online channels also have the chance of meeting face to face with content owners to do business.

He explained further that “The opening ceremony of the event is expected to be graced by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alh. Mohammed Idris as Special Guest of Honour, other guests of honour are, Alh Lai Mohammed (Former Minister for Information and Culture), DG, National Orientation Agency Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, DG Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Baba Ndace.”

He added, “In addition, industry partners to the NEMCEA event such as Nigeria Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) would be led by their DGs, Mr. Charles Ebuebu, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, and Alh Salihu Dembos respectively to the event.”

Commenting on the critical for the Awards, he said “all entries for television, radio and online content that are produced, broadcast or publicly exhibited till April 30th, 2024.  Interested persons can log on to www.nemcea.com/awards to fill out the submission form. The call for entries for the 2024 Awards is still open until July 15th.”

He explained further “We appreciate our various sponsors as well as media partners too numerous to mention who have been pillars of support towards this event.  It is important to note the likes of Zee World and Creative Nigeria Summit.
