Christmas Outreach: WOHAN Donates Food Items and Other Supplies to Old People’s Home in Lagos

Members of Women in Out of Home Advertising Business (WOHAN) embarked on a humanitarian visit to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos, as part of their Christmas outreach and community service initiative. The organisation also donated a range of items aimed at enhancing the comfort and wellbeing of the elderly.

The visit took place on Wednesday, 17th December 2025, during which items such as fruits, foodstuffs, a 250-litre deep freezer, Wi-Fi support, adult nappies, toiletries, a filled 25kg gas cylinder, and other essential household items were donated.

The team was guided through the premises by a dedicated caregiver, gaining insights into the daily routines, welfare needs, and living conditions of the elderly residents. The caregiver’s evident dedication and compassion towards the residents left a positive impression on all present.

Following the tour, WOHAN members engaged directly with the elderly residents, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie. The group joined the seniors in singing familiar songs and exchanged words of encouragement, love, and moral support. This interaction fostered an atmosphere of warmth and emotional upliftment for both residents and visitors alike.

The organisation’s visit was described as both impactful and fulfilling, reaffirming WOHAN’s commitment to social responsibility and community support. The smiles, prayers, and expressions of gratitude from the residents served as a powerful reminder of the importance of caring for senior citizens in society.

Mrs Adeola Odesanya, WOHAN’s coordinator, emphasised the organisation’s ongoing dedication to supporting vulnerable groups. She stated that WOHAN remains committed to seeking out opportunities to contribute meaningfully to community development and social welfare.
