NEMCEA 2026: Nigeria’s Media Leaders to Convene in September to Elevate the Creative Economy

The Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria (EMCOAN) has unveiled plans for the fifth edition of the Nigerian Electronic Media Content Exhibition and Awards (NEMCEA 2026). Recognized as Nigeria’s premier international media event, NEMCEA is a comprehensive gathering featuring a conference, content exhibition, and industry awards night.

Set for September 2nd and 3rd at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos, this milestone edition will focus on the financial sustainability of Nigeria’s creative sector under the theme, **”The Creator’s Economy – Elevate Your Craft, Secure Your Future.”**

As digital transformation accelerates, bridging the divide between creative passion and commercial success has become crucial. Themed to empower content creators, producers, and media executives, the event aims to provide vital tools for monetizing creative endeavors effectively.

Among the distinguished speakers at NEMCEA 2026 are (1) Mr. Charles Ebuebu, Director General, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC); (2) Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director General, Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON); (3) Dr. Lanre Isaac Onilu, Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA); (4) Comrade Salihu Abdullahi Dembos, Director General, Nigerian Television Authority (NTA); (5) Dr. Mohammed Bulama, Director-General, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN); (6) Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, Managing Director, Nigeria Communication Satellite Ltd. Adding to the discourse, media expert Mr. Yinka Adebayo, Group Executive Director at Omnicom Media Group (Mediareach OMD), will share insights from his extensive experience in media buying, branding, and advertising strategies.

Highlighting the event’s economic importance, EMCOAN President Mr. Adeniji Omirin stated, “The creative industry is no longer just a hobby; it is a critical driver of Nigeria’s GDP. At NEMCEA 2026, our focus is to shift the narrative from mere content creation to sustainable wealth creation. We want our creators to not only elevate their artistic output but to robustly secure their financial future in an unpredictable market.”
