Nigeria Digital PR Summit Opens Nominations for 2026 Awards, Unveils Theme Song and Selection Panel

The Nigeria Digital PR Summit (NDPRS) is thrilled to announce the opening of nominations for the third Nigeria Digital PR Awards, celebrating excellence, innovation, and impact in digital public relations. This initiative highlights the dynamic evolution of the industry, spotlighting remarkable individuals, organizations, and campaigns shaping Nigeria’s digital influence.

Under the compelling theme “Art of Influence,” the Awards will be formally presented at the Gala Night on October 16, 2026, during the second day of the 11th Nigeria Digital PR Summit. The event will take place at The Zone, Gbagada Expressway, Lagos, bringing together Nigeria’s top communication and marketing professionals.

Adding a new dimension to this year’s celebration, the Summit has unveiled its official theme song — “Onye Bu Nwa Nnem” by James Eze. Meaning “Who is my brother?”, the song uniquely blends the Yoruba talking drum with the Igbo Oja flute, symbolizing unity across Nigeria’s diverse cultural landscape. It embodies the spirit of connection, identity, and influence that continues to drive the Summit’s mission.

This year’s Awards feature 27 categories that reflect the expanding influence of creators, culture, communities, technology, and data-driven communication. The categories are grouped into six key areas: Creators, Culture & Influence; Campaigns; Public Sector & Public Affairs; The New PR Playbook; Organizations; and Individuals. Notable categories include Creator of the Year, Digital PR Campaign of the Year, Best Youth Social Impact Campaign, Public Sector Digital Communication of the Year, Best Use of AI in Communication, PR Agency of the Year (Digital), Digital PR Professional of the Year, and Industry Impact Award.

To ensure a fair and expert evaluation process, a five-member Selection Panel has been announced. Led by Datari Ladejo, Founder and CEO of Fernhill Digital Consulting, who returns as Chair, the panel includes industry veterans such as Oluwamuyemi Orimolade, Thelma Okoh, Adaoha Njemanze, and Jeremiah Agada.

Segun McMedal, Founder of the Nigeria Digital PR Summit, remarked on the significance of these awards: “Influence today goes beyond visibility. It is about shaping conversations, building communities, earning trust and creating impact. This year’s Awards are designed to recognise the people, organisations and campaigns demonstrating what the new PR playbook looks like in practice. We are particularly pleased with the breadth of this year’s categories and the experience our Selection Panel brings to the process. We are equally excited about the theme song, it is the first time the Summit has had one, and we are grateful to James Eze for partnering with us.”

Commenting on the criteria, Datari Ladejo emphasized the importance of strategic creativity: “The digital environment has fundamentally changed how organisations communicate, build relationships and influence behaviour. We will be looking beyond numbers and visibility to the quality of the thinking, creativity, execution and impact behind each entry. The Awards should celebrate work that demonstrates where digital PR is heading, not simply where it has been.”

Nominations are open to PR agencies, corporate communication teams, government bodies, NGOs, startups, and individual practitioners who demonstrate innovation and strategic impact through digital platforms. Nominations will be accepted from August 17 to September 18, 2026, with winners announced during the Awards Gala on October 16.
