MAGGI Reaches Nearly 20,000 Women Through Expanded August Meeting Programme

MAGGI reached 19,670 women across five South-East states through its 2026 August Meeting engagement, expanding the brand’s presence at the annual community and cultural gathering.

The programme involved 30 women’s associations and five market activations—more than doubling participation from the previous year and marking MAGGI’s largest August Meeting engagement to date.

August Meeting brings women together to discuss family and community issues while celebrating shared cultural traditions. MAGGI’s activities combined food, nutrition education and entertainment, with post-meeting receptions featuring cooking competitions, music, gifts and appearances by South-East Nigerian actresses Ruby Ojiakor, Blessing Obasi and Blessing Onwukwe.

Cooking sessions introduced new approaches to familiar dishes, while competitions gave participants a chance to showcase their culinary skills. Nutrition sessions focused on balanced and varied diets, micronutrients such as iron, and practical meal planning within household budgets. Participants also discussed fortified foods, including MAGGI products fortified with iron, as part of a varied diet.

Funmi Osineye, Category Manager, Culinary, Nestlé Nigeria, said: “August Meeting is a powerful expression of the role women play in strengthening families, preserving traditions and driving progress in their communities. It also creates an important space for women to come together, learn from one another and share experiences. For MAGGI, being part of this enduring tradition is especially meaningful as we mark 60 years in Nigeria. It is an opportunity to celebrate the women who have been part of our journey while creating an experience that brings together culinary inspiration, practical nutrition knowledge and the shared joy of food and community.”

Blessing Onwukwe, who attended celebrations in Enugu and Ebonyi States, said: “Joining the 2026 August Meeting celebrations in Enugu and Ebonyi States was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every moment and am truly glad to have had the opportunity to be part of the celebrations in both states.”

Christianna Nwibo, an Executive of the Catholic Women Organization Nwofe, Ebonyi State said: “We really enjoyed the MAGGI experience at our August Meeting. The food was delicious, the gifts were wonderful, and we had such a good time.”

The activation forms part of MAGGI’s broader consumer engagement in Nigeria, where the brand has built connections with women through food, community and cultural platforms. As it marks 60 years in the country, MAGGI says it aims to stay relevant to new generations while continuing to celebrate the people and traditions associated with its history.
