Renowned industry leader in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) and experiential marketing, Mr. Abiodun Oshinibosi, who is also the Project Marshal /CEO of Abelinis Limited, is poised to unveil his debut book, “Project Manager Extraordinaire” (PMX). The virtual launch, scheduled for March 24, 2025, will coincide with his milestone 50th birthday celebration.

“Project Manager Extraordinaire” aims to fill a significant gap in the understanding of project management, particularly in the experiential marketing sector, where formal knowledge has been lacking despite its growing relevance across Africa. The book seeks to challenge the misconception that project management is confined to IT and engineering, showcasing its application across various industries.

“In the realm of project management, many only associate it with IT or engineering. However, the principles of project management are universally applicable, especially in experiential marketing,” Mr. Oshinibosi stated. “This book is my way of giving back to society as I celebrate my 50th birthday, sharing insights that have guided my successful journey in this field.”

Targeting students, recent graduates, and entry-level project managers in marketing agencies, “Project Manager Extraordinaire” goes beyond theoretical concepts, addressing practical elements that distinguish exceptional project leaders.

“Our focus is on the younger generation,” Mr. Oshinibosi explained. “While they may grasp theoretical frameworks, understanding the right habits and attitudes necessary for effective project management is crucial. Successful project management involves coordinating people, managing emotions, and resolving conflicts—key skills that set outstanding project managers apart.”

The book has garnered endorsements from prominent industry figures, including Dr. Rotimi Olaniyan, former president of the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria (EXMAN) and a program director at a leading UK business school, who will review the book. Additionally, Manny Toba, president of the Project Management Institute (PMI), will offer insights from a project management perspective.

In a philanthropic move, Mr. Oshinibosi will donate proceeds from the book to support polio eradication efforts through Rotary International, an organization he actively supports. “With Rotary, we ensure that every kobo goes directly towards this initiative,” he affirmed.

Recognizing that the book’s production cost of approximately ₦27,000 per copy may be a barrier for potential readers, Mr. Oshinibosi has launched an endowment program. This initiative allows professionals, friends, and family members to sponsor copies for students at various higher education institutions across Nigeria.

“We aim to rally our community to ensure this book reaches students in higher education,” Mr. Oshinibosi said. “One person might sponsor ten copies for the University of Lagos, while another may choose to support five for students at Lagos Polytechnic.”
