Adekanmbi, Prof. Ogwezzy, Ugbe, Adebayo, Others Set to Speak at Advertising Industry Colloquium
Stakeholders in the advertising industry are set to converge at the second edition of the Advertising Industry Colloquium (AIC) on 27th June 2024 at 8:00 am at the Sheba Events Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event organised by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), which is aimed at bridging the gap between the academia and the industry, has a lined-up of seasoned professionals who will dissect the theme “Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Advertising Education and Professional Excellence in Nigeria”. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Bayo Adekanmbi, Founder, Data Science Nigeria and other notable professionals who will speak during the panel session. They include Prof. Abigail N. Ogwezzy – Dept. of Mass Communications, University of Lagos; Engr. Dozie Mbanefo, Managing Director, New Crystal Communications; Mr. John Ugbe, MD/CEO, Multichoice Nigeria; Mr. Yinka Adebayo, Head, Procurement, Omnicom Media Group, West & Central Africa; Mr. Kelechi Nwosu, MD, TBWA\Concept: and Mr. Tunji Adeyinka, GMD, Republicom Group.
Recall, speaking at the press briefing held recently, the Director General, ARCON, Dr. Lekan Fadolapo, said “The purpose of the forthcoming event is to ensure that both the academic professionals and other professionals align together. “
Similarly, Prof. Rotimi Olatunji, Chairman, AIC and Academic Journal Committee said ““The Colloquium presents unique opportunities for academics and students of Mass Communication, Advertising, and other integrated marketing communication (IMC) components to engage with professionals in advertising and IMC, media practitioners, policymakers, and regulatory agencies. Together, they will critically explore strategies for leveraging emerging technologies to achieve sustainable advertising education and professional excellence in Nigeria.”
Expected to also grace the event are Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa – Chairman/CEO, Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) as Guest of Honour; Professor Tahir Mamman – Hon. Minister of Education as Special Guest of Honour; and ARC. Sonny S. T. Echono, Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Fund (TETFund) as Chairman.
It will be declared opened by the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Mohammed Idris.
