AXA Mansard Launches ‘Culture of Care’ Campaign to Boost Insurance Awareness

AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has launched a pan-African “Culture of Care” campaign to raise awareness of insurance and its role in protecting households, supporting businesses and strengthening Nigeria’s economic resilience.
The campaign frames insurance as a practical expression of care and a foundation for long-term security. Speaking at its launch, AXA Mansard CEO Kunle Ahmed said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to helping more Nigerians understand how protection can safeguard livelihoods and support national growth.
Ahmed said expanding insurance access is important to closing Nigeria’s protection gap and building economic confidence.
“Every day, Nigerians demonstrate a culture of care through the sacrifices they make for their families, employees, customers, and communities. Insurance is an extension of that care because it helps protect what people have worked hard to build,” he said.
“Insurance is economic infrastructure. It helps families recover from setbacks, gives businesses the confidence to invest and grow, and supports economic stability by enabling people to plan for the future with greater certainty,” he added.
The campaign aims to connect insurance with values and practices familiar to Nigerians, encouraging greater uptake among households, small businesses and larger enterprises. For businesses, insurance can help manage operational disruptions, unexpected losses and emerging risks. For households, it can reduce financial vulnerability and help protect savings.
“As Nigeria pursues greater economic transformation, we must build institutions and systems that make individuals, families, and businesses more resilient. Protection gives people confidence. Confidence encourages investment. Investment drives growth,” he said.
Ahmed also pointed to ongoing reforms in the insurance industry, saying a stronger and more trusted sector can support entrepreneurship, attract investment and contribute to sustainable development.
AXA Mansard said the campaign reflects its belief that protection should be seen not only as a response to risk, but also as an enabler of progress.
“Building a prosperous nation requires more than ambition. It requires confidence, resilience, and the ability to withstand uncertainty,” Ahmed said. “Through the Culture of Care, we are helping to promote a mindset that values protection as a foundation for progress. Stronger protection creates stronger families, stronger businesses, and ultimately a stronger economy.”
The initiative forms part of AXA Mansard’s wider efforts to advance financial inclusion, expand access to protection and contribute to a more resilient and prosperous Nigeria.
