Diageo Appoints Segun Ogunleye as New Head of Marketing for Africa Partner Markets

Diageo, a leading name in the global beverage alcohol sector, has announced the appointment of Segun Ogunleye as the Head of Marketing for its Africa Partner Markets. In addition to this role, Ogunleye will also serve as the Beer Lead for South, West, and Central Africa.
Ogunleye brings over a decade of strategic marketing and brand innovation experience to his new position. Prior to joining Diageo, he was instrumental in expanding product categories and driving brand growth at SBC, the PepsiCo bottler in Nigeria, where he led significant marketing initiatives across various sectors, including Carbonated Soft Drinks, Energy, Malt, and Isotonic beverages, while also exploring prospects in the Home & Personal Care sector.
Reflecting on his career transition, Ogunleye expressed gratitude for his time at SBC, stating, “I am incredibly grateful for my journey at SBC, where I had the opportunity to lead innovative campaigns and build strong relationships. Moving to Diageo is an exciting new challenge, and I look forward to contributing to the company’s vision of creating impactful brand experiences across Africa.”
In his new role, Ogunleye will spearhead Diageo’s marketing strategies in key African markets, working closely with teams to enhance consumer engagement and strengthen the company’s market leadership.
