Dufil Prima Foods Donates Science Laboratory Equipment to Lagos School

Dufil Prima Foods Limited, makers of Indomie instant noodles, has donated laboratory equipment for Chemistry, Physics and Biology practicals to Ikeja Senior Grammar School in Oshodi, Lagos.
The donation is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme and is the first in a planned series of interventions to support science education. The equipment includes compound microscopes, test tubes, beakers, conical and volumetric flasks, measuring instruments, electrical equipment, dissecting kits, specimen trays and laboratory safety materials.
Dufil said the donation followed an assessment of the school’s needs, with the company identifying specific gaps before selecting the equipment.
The school’s Principal and Director, Mrs. Ajibola Johnson, described the donation as timely and relevant.
“When we were told that Indomie was bringing science equipment to our school, we were very happy because many of the items were things we actually needed but did not have,” she said. “These materials will enable our students to participate in practical lessons and support their learning in science subjects.”
Johnson said practical work helps students complement classroom theory through observation, experimentation and application.
Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods, said the company’s approach was to respond to identified needs.
“Giving back to the society in which we operate is an important part of our corporate responsibility,” Ashiwaju said. “We do not want to simply give out items; we want to understand what communities and institutions actually need and meet them at that point of need.”
He said education is one of the company’s key areas of social investment, alongside healthcare and community development. Its support includes scholarships and the provision of educational and medical resources.
Ashiwaju added that the laboratory donation was intended to encourage young Nigerians to engage with science by making practical learning more accessible.
The equipment will give students at Ikeja Senior Grammar School greater opportunities to conduct experiments and apply what they learn in the classroom, the company said.
