KCCDEI PARTY PRESS 2

In the atmosphere of fun and laughter, Euro Global Foods and Distilleries Limited, Nigerian Breweries plc and Nic’s Butchery recently partnered Kingdom Concept Children Development and Education Initiative (KCCDEI) to celebrate less privileged children in Lagos.

According to KCCDEI, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Daphne Uduneje, the annual Children’s Day event is part of her organization’s vision of inspiring and equipping children to rise above the circumstances of their birth to achieve greatness. She said, “Our Children parties are designed to create a forum for the less and the privileged children to come together and share love and network in our community.

“We believe that children are unique gifts that should be celebrated and given access to the best that the society can provide, to develop them into not only responsible citizens but leaders and achievers who will inspire stronger generations after theirs. We would be reaching out to individuals and corporate bodies to see how we can provide scholarship for indigent pupils.”

Uduneje pointed out that the development plans of the government should also include the inner cities. Her words: “The world is now a global village, the radio, television and the satellite cum super highway networks impact on every facet of human endeavours. Yet under these conditions majority of our women and children live as if these scientific developments are a fairy tale.

“Poverty and disease define potentials of our people. The situation in most of our rural areas, Shanties and Ghettos leave a huge gulf in our development plan”.

She noted that one of the biggest problem on our hands today as a nation is child abuse and neglect, adding that “according to UNICEF there are an estimated 250 million children aged between 5 to 14 in child labour worldwide, excluding children in domestic labour. These children work to earn a living under strenuous conditions. This is child abuse”.

She hinted that the genesis of child abuse often is poverty in the home which has made parents unable to cater for their children’s educational responsibilities and well-being.

“Against this background , Kingdom Concept Children Development and Education initiatives calls on government at all levels to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich by providing basic social amenities for the inner cities ”.

The KCCDEI boss thanked the management of Euro Global Foods and Distillers, Nigerian Breweries plc for providing drinks for the party and Nic’s Butchery for providing chickens served , saying that their gifts show how committed they are towards the development of our great nation.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director, Euro Global Foods and Distilleries Limited, Mr. Manish Uniyal, said, “Children are special to us as a company not just because we make Savana drinks for them but because they are the future of all societies and tomorrow leaders. We are happy to work with KCCDEI who have such great programmes for kids because we believe that when the society gives attention to children, it solves future challenges. So we will actively be engaging children through activities and organisations such as KCCDEI.”

Commenting on his companies gesture Media Support Manager, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Chukwuemeka Aniukwu said “Childen are unique gifts from God to us and we will do anything to put smiles on their faces”.

Aniukwu, noted that the development of children should be a priority of the government, parents and the society, adding that Nigerian Breweries is happy to be associated with events such as the Children Day party which celebrate children.

Mrs. Bukola Mato of Nic’s Butchery describes supporting KCCDEI Children’s Day party as a very rewarding venture especially when it is looked at from the point of giving back to the society.

The children’s party featured dancing and singing competitions, games and debate with winners getting various prizes in the form of educational supports.
