GTCO Reports ₦900.8 Billion Profit Before Tax in Q3 2025
Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) has announced its unaudited consolidated and standalone financial results as of September 30, 2025, filed with the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE).
The Group reported a profit before tax (PBT) of ₦900.8 billion, driven by robust growth in core earnings from interest and fee income, which increased by 25.6% and 16.8% year-on-year, respectively. Total assets stood at ₦16.7 trillion, while shareholders’ funds reached ₦3.3 trillion. The Group’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) remained robust at 36.5%. Asset quality improved, with IFRS 9 Stage 3 loans at 3.3% for the Bank and 4.4% for the Group as of Q3-2025—down from 3.5% and 5.2%, respectively, in December 2024. The Cost of Risk (COR) also decreased significantly to 2.2% from 4.9%.
The Group’s net loan book expanded by 16.5%, from ₦2.79 trillion in December 2024 to ₦3.24 trillion in September 2025. Deposit liabilities similarly grew by 16.0%, from ₦10.40 trillion to ₦12.06 trillion within the same period.
Commenting on the results, GTCO’s CEO, Mr. Segun Agbaje, highlighted the resilience and consistency of the Group’s business model. “Our third quarter performance demonstrates the strength of our diversified financial ecosystem.
