Guinness Promo Awards ₦150m Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to Grand Prize Winner

Guinness Nigeria Plc has concluded its “Open For More” national consumer promotion, rewarding 1,075 consumers over 10 weeks. Queen Thompson won the grand prize: a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado valued at ₦150 million.
At a presentation ceremony at the company’s headquarters in Ogba, Lagos, Guinness Nigeria Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Girish Sharma handed Thompson the vehicle keys.
Speaking at the event, Sharma said: “I’m particularly excited that the winner is a woman. Many didn’t know that Guinness consumers are now 50-50 men and women. The dynamics are changing as we deepen commitment to rewarding consumer loyalty.”
Launched on July 18, 2026, the promotion awarded ₦100,000 each to 1,000 consumers and ₦1 million each to another 75. The grand prize draw awarded the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado to Thompson. The campaign was conducted under the regulatory oversight of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
The commission oversaw the promotion, including approval of its terms, winner selection and prize delivery, to support transparency and accountability.
Mayor Esiaba, Head of Beer at Guinness Nigeria, said the promotion was created to recognise consumers who continue to choose the stout.
“Guinness Foreign Extra Stout has always stood for boldness, and Open For More was our way of saying thank you to the consumers who make that boldness possible. We are proud of the trust Nigerians place in the brand and will continue creating experiences that reward their loyalty,” he said.
Ifeoluwapo Odedere, Senior Brand Manager at Guinness, said the promotion brought the brand’s “Open For More” promise to life through consumer rewards.
“Seeing consumers win from the ₦100,000 prizes to the ₦1 million rewards and now the grand prize Prado has been deeply fulfilling. We are grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to creating more rewarding experiences,” Odedere said.
Thompson said she was surprised by the win and initially doubted the notification because of previous experiences with fraud.
“I am still in shock! I never imagined that opening a bottle of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout would lead to me driving home in a brand-new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Having been swindled twice this year, I initially cut the call because I was yet to recover from those experiences. I am so grateful to Guinness for this life-changing gift. Truly, what God cannot do does not exist,” she said.
Guinness Nigeria said the promotion reflects its commitment to recognising consumer loyalty and creating brand experiences, with regulatory oversight intended to support fairness and transparency.
