In celebration of the 2025 International Women’s Day, JTI Nigeria hosted a business luncheon at Bon Appetite, Victoria Island, where female employees came together to discuss the challenges and opportunities in promoting gender diversity within the organization. This event was more than a mere celebration—it served as a vital forum for addressing the need to break down barriers and create opportunities for women, particularly in male-dominated sectors.

During the gathering, Mrs. Yemisi Agweye, Legal Director at JTI Nigeria, emphasized the significant strides women have made in the workplace, urging attendees to embrace the call to #AccelerateEmpowerment and to ensure women’s leadership across all areas of the company. She encouraged the women present to continue breaking barriers and to inspire future generations of female leaders.

Mrs. Olatoun Oladele, P&C Business Support Manager, underscored JTI Nigeria’s dedication to bridging gender gaps, especially in traditionally male-dominated roles. “Women are stepping into roles previously dominated by men, and they are excelling,” she remarked. “The success we are witnessing from women taking on these challenges demonstrates that they are fully prepared to lead and deliver.”

Participants praised JTI Nigeria for its proactive approach to inclusivity and empowerment, highlighting that the company’s commitment to gender equality is essential for achieving its global Vision #1. With a presence in over 130 countries and recognized as a Top Global Employer for the last decade, JTI remains focused on fostering an inclusive environment where women can thrive in every role.
