The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has concluded plans to hold its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) from October 22 to 24, 2024, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The three-day event comprises the Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition, the 52nd AGM, and the 4th edition of the Adeola Odutola Lecture/Presidential Luncheon.
Manufacturers, government officials, captains of industries, regulators, marketers, consumers, and other stakeholders in the manufacturing industry are set to converge at the event themed “The Imperatives of an Intentional Development of the Nigerian Manufacturing Sector”.
Speaking during the press briefing to announce the forthcoming event, MAN President, Otunba Francis Meshioye said the event will help the industry chart a way forward considering the current challenges it is facing while it will also celebrate some of its breakthroughs.
“We need to urgently address the binding constraints that make our local products uncompetitive, otherwise, the economy may continue on the downward trend with no certainty on when it will rebound. As critical stakeholders in the Nigerian economy, we shall continue to play our role of presenting the government with policy inputs and options. We shall continue to partner with governments with a view to co-creating innovative solutions that will free the Nigerian economy from its lackluster performance and place it on the path of productivity, sustainable growth, and development,” Meshioye disclosed.
The three-day event will commence with the Made-in-Nigeria Exhibition from 10 am prompt and will be held for two days (October 22 to 23). The event will be declared open by Mr. Olusegun Omotola, Director General, Bureau of Public Procurement. He will be joined by other dignitaries to draw attention to the need for Nigerians to patronize Made-in-Nigeria Products. More than 100 exhibitors are set to showcase their products at the event to more than 10,000 visitors from Nigeria and other African countries.
The second day of the event on Wednesday, October 23, is the AGM proper and will be held at the Grand Ball Room, and it is only met for MAN members. Also, a presentation by KPMG on embracing sustainable finance, as well as an awareness session on the GEF-UNIDO & IEE RECP project, will be held that day.
