MTN Foundation Launches 2025 Scholarship Applications, Invests Over N3 Billion in Programme

The MTN Foundation has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 scholarship program, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to fostering excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The foundation aims to enhance diversity and inclusion by providing targeted support for blind students across Nigeria.

This year, the scholarship program features three distinct categories: the Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS), the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS), and the prestigious Top 10 UTME Scholarship. The MTN STS is available to all 300-level Science and Technology students who maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5. Meanwhile, the MTN SBS supports blind students in their 200-level studies with a minimum CGPA of 2.5. Additionally, the top 10 candidates from the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as determined by JAMB, are automatically eligible for the MTN Foundation Top 10 UTME scholarship.

Over the past 15 years, the MTN Foundation has invested more than NGN 3 billion in education, awarding a total of 14,728 scholarships. These initiatives have provided beneficiaries with essential skills and practical knowledge vital for success in today’s dynamic job market.

Odunayo Sanya, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, emphasized the program’s significance: “Education is the backbone of national development. We are committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder talented individuals from reaching their full potential. This scholarship goes beyond just funding; it represents a vital investment in Nigeria’s future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.”

Since 2024, the MTN Foundation has increased the scholarship amount from NGN 200,000 to NGN 300,000 annually for three consecutive years, contingent upon maintaining the required academic standards. Scholars also benefit from mentorship, internship opportunities, and digital certifications, enhancing their educational experience.
