As part of activities to commemorate the inaugural ‘Protein Day’ celebration in Nigeria, ‘Right to Protein’, a nutritional awareness initiative has announced an exciting contest to promote the importance of adequate protein consumption and healthy eating habits.

The ‘Protein Day’ contest which will run from Friday, February 24 to Friday March 10, 2023, is open to all Nigerian residents aged 18 and above. The contest invites participants to showcase their creative culinary skills and knowledge of protein-rich foods to stand a chance of winning a shopping voucher worth 20,000 naira.

Now, what is ‘Protein Day’ all about? ‘Protein Day’ is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the body’s most essential building blocks, protein, its benefits, and to encourage individuals to increase its consumption in their everyday diet. Held annually on the 27th of February, it is a day that is observed across the globe.

Right To Protein Nigeria will be celebrating its first Protein Day in the country with the theme “Easy Access to Protein for All”. It is a day set to increase awareness and promote the importance of having easy access to protein for a healthy and balanced diet.

Protein is an essential macronutrient that helps develop bones, skin, cartilage, and blood. It is required for the growth, repair and maintenance of the body’s tissues and organs. It is also important to produce enzymes, hormones and other biochemicals that keep the body functioning properly.

However, many Nigerians do not consume enough protein in their diets, which can lead to malnutrition and poor health outcomes. The Protein Day contest is a fun and engaging way to raise awareness about the benefits of protein and encourage Nigerians to incorporate more protein-rich foods into their diets.
To participate in the contest, all you need to do is to follow Right to Protein Nigeria on their official social media pages. Next, share a picture/video of a delicious protein-rich meal/recipe, tagging @righttoproteinnigeria on their Instagram and Facebook page. The post should also include the hashtag #WhatsYourProtein and #ProteinDay.
Winners will be selected based on a lucky draw of the post entries that fulfill the eligibility criteria.

So, what are you waiting for? Hurry and enter for the Protein Day Contest. You can be lucky to win one of the six 20,000 naira shopping vouchers that are up for grabs.
