Nigeria’s Nwakaego Boyo Makes 2025 Gerety Awards Grand Jury List
Gerety has opened its portal for the submission of entries and has also announced the locations and jury presidents for the 2025 Gerety Awards. The Founder, Executive Producer, and CEO of Temple Productions, Nwakaego Boyo, a Nigerian, was shortlisted as one of the grand jury members for the awards.
There are 15 locations for the executive jury sessions this year: New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, Düsseldorf, Madrid, Milan, LATAM, Melbourne, MEA, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and São Paulo.
As well as defining the shortlist, the executive jury sessions each select the agency and production company of the year from their country.
Boyo will join other global creative and business leaders to judge works from across the globe.

The jury presidents leading the executive jury sessions for the 2025 Gerety Awards include: Prerna Mehra, Creative Director and Head of Design, MullenLowe MENA, UAE; Emma De La Fosse, Chief Creative Officer, Edelman, UK; Tomoko Kanezaki, Managing Director, Creative Planning, Dentsu Inc. Japan; and among others.
Meet Nwakaego Boyo
Ego has over 25 years of experience in the creative industry as an actor, producer, and director, making her a pioneering figure in African cinema. She is passionate about celebrating African stories and promoting social equity, particularly gender equality, through impactful films and media initiatives. As the Founder and Managing Director of Temple Productions and Temple Media, her projects have included corporate work with many local and international organizations as well as critically acclaimed Films that have received numerous awards, and showcased at prestigious festivals such as AFRIFF, Urban World, AMAA, and Black Star, with screenings in London, Brazil, Barbados, South Africa, and the USA.
Beyond film, Ego has been involved in visual arts and education. She organized the Crosscurrents exhibition, featuring Italian and Nigerian artists, and has advised and consulted for other exhibitions. She was one of twelve co-founders of Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School Ikoyi, a British curriculum private school set up in May 2002 to provide first-class education to the students She continues to serve on the board and also served on the advisory board of the Oando Foundation.
Ego’s leadership roles extend to several boards. She serves as Chair of the Lagos Fringe Festival, a multi-disciplinary arts festival. As a board member at the Mirabel Centre, the first SARC in Nigeria advocating for and supporting victims of sexual and gender-based violence. Other boards include the Eastern Nigeria Film & Art Initiative and the Miss Nigeria organization.
She has served on various film juries as well as judging status for script, book, and talent festivals. Currently a member of the AFRIFF Jury 2024, Women in the Arts Nigeria 2024.
A member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, the Association of Movie Producers, and the Forum of Women in Film and TV Nigeria. Committed to advancing women in leadership, she is an active member of Gaia Africa, an all-women business club. As the 60th President of the International Women’s Society, she led numerous charitable initiatives across Nigeria.
