President Tinubu Congratulates Former First Bank CEO, Dr. Adeduntan, on Installation as Balogun of Oyo

In a distinguished acknowledgment of leadership and community service, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Oloye (Dr.) Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, former Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, on his formal installation as the Balogun of Oyo by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I, Alaafin of Oyo.

The historic event is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026.

President Tinubu praised Dr. Adeduntan’s illustrious career in banking and finance, highlighting his transformative tenure at First Bank, Nigeria’s oldest financial institution. Under his leadership, the bank underwent significant modernization, reinforcing its position in Nigeria’s financial landscape.

Beyond his corporate achievements, the President acknowledged Dr. Adeduntan’s ongoing contributions to national development through enterprise, education, and philanthropy. Notably, he serves as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University.

President Tinubu also commended the patriot’s philanthropic efforts via the Adesola Adeduntan Foundation, which has invested in modern primary healthcare centers across Oyo and Ibadan, as well as initiatives within Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.

“As you assume this historic responsibility, I urge you to bring to the service of the Alaafin, the Oyo Kingdom, and its people, the same discipline, strategic foresight, and commitment to excellence that have distinguished your professional and public life,” President Tinubu said.

He added, “Your installation is both an honour and a call to greater service. I trust that you will continue to deploy your experience, influence, and resources towards promoting peace, opportunity, development, and the preservation of our rich cultural heritage.”
