Prima Garnet CEO to Lead Discussion on AI and the Future of Advertising at BJAN Conference

Lolu Akinwunmi will lead discussions on how artificial intelligence is reshaping creative agencies, brand communication and marketing
Prima Garnet Group Chief Executive Officer Lolu Akinwunmi will deliver the keynote address at the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria’s (BJAN) 2026 Annual Brands and Marketing Conference.
Scheduled for Friday, November 6, in Lagos, the conference will explore AI’s growing influence on Nigeria’s advertising and marketing industries under the theme, “Advertising in Nigeria & AI: Who Needs Creative Agency?”
Akinwunmi is expected to discuss the opportunities and challenges AI presents for creative agencies, brand owners and marketing professionals. His keynote will contribute to broader conversations about the technology’s impact on advertising strategy, content development, consumer engagement and campaign performance.
As businesses adopt AI tools for generating ideas, analysing consumer behaviour, personalising messages and improving campaign efficiency, the technology is prompting questions about the role and relevance of traditional creative agencies.
The conference theme invites industry practitioners to consider whether AI could replace services traditionally provided by agencies or enhance their ability to develop effective campaigns. While AI can automate tasks and speed up content production, advertising also relies on strategic thinking, originality, cultural understanding and meaningful connections between brands and consumers.
Other speakers include Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, Director-General of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), and Bethel Obioma, Head of Corporate Communications at Sahara Group.
Tolulope A. Modasbem, CEO of Lead Central and author of *Integrated Marketing*, will moderate the panel session. Panellists include Angela Ukara-Makinde, Chief Engagement Strategist at EXP Marketing Nigeria; Adeola Amosun, Group Media Manager at Tolaram Group; Dr. Seyi Akindeinde, Founder of Hyperspace Technologies; George Isitu-Okukwe, CEO of TBWA\Concept; and Dr. Oludare Ogunyemi, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mass Communication at Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State.
BJAN Chairman Daniel Obi said the conference would give industry stakeholders a platform to exchange views on AI’s implications for brand building and the future of advertising.
