Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways Expand Codeshare Network to 19 Destinations, Boosting Africa-Asia Connectivity
Qatar Airways and Kenya Airways have announced the expansion of their strategic partnership through a significant increase in codeshare flights, now offering access to 19 destinations worldwide. This development follows their recently signed agreement, with additional routes expected to join soon.
Starting 26 October 2025, travelers can book codeshare flights operated by Kenya Airways between Nairobi and Doha, as well as to 10 connecting destinations via the award-winning Hamad International Airport. Meanwhile, Qatar Airways passengers will gain access to eight Kenyan destinations, facilitated by three daily flights between Doha and Nairobi, with tickets available for purchase from 21 October.
Thierry Antinori, Qatar Airways’ Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Since launching our partnership with Kenya Airways just a few months ago, we’ve made remarkable progress. This expansion underscores our commitment to providing seamless connectivity across Africa and beyond, supported by our growing presence in Kenya, including a third daily flight to Nairobi driven by strong passenger demand.”
Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways’ Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, added: “We are excited to deepen our partnership with Qatar Airways. This collaboration will significantly enhance connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, offering our customers a broader array of destinations and a more seamless travel experience.”
This joint effort broadens Qatar Airways’ reach within Africa, granting travelers from over 170 destinations worldwide easier access to key cities served by Kenya Airways, including Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Ndola, and Victoria Falls. Likewise, Kenyan passengers will now be able to connect to multiple destinations across Asia and the Middle East via Doha’s Hamad International Airport, named the ‘Best Airport in the Middle East’ for 11 consecutive years. Destinations include Bahrain, Colombo, Islamabad, Karachi, Malé, Tokyo Narita, and Singapore.
In addition, Qatar Airways Privilege Club members will earn Avios on Kenya Airways-operated codeshare flights.
The airlines plan to continue collaborating on various areas, including network development, airport operations, lounges, sustainability initiatives, and procurement. Future phases may also explore opportunities in cargo, aircraft maintenance, and repair services.
Current Codeshare Routes Include:
– Kenya Airways: Bahrain, Colombo, Doha, Dhaka, Islamabad, Karachi, Kuala Lumpur, Malé, Muscat, Singapore, Tokyo Narita
– Qatar Airways: Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Lilongwe, Livingstone, Juba, Nampula, Victoria Falls
