WHISPERS 4.0 to Take Centre Stage as TheatreMania Africa Launches GNT Initiative at Corona Secondary School

As part of the series of preparatory activities leading up to the upcoming TheatreMania Africa Festival (TAF) 2026, scheduled for later this year, the organisers of the festival are set to introduce the Generation Next Theatre (GNT) initiative to students at Corona Secondary School, Agbara, Ogun State, on 4th and 5th June 2026.

The two-day GNT programme comprises (1) a Mentorship Session called The Masters Circle, designed to inspire and motivate students, particularly those interested in Nigeria’s creative sector, and (2) a stage play titled “WHISPERS 4.0”.

The stage is prepared at Corona Secondary School, Agbara, for the fourth instalment of the acclaimed production, “WHISPERS 4.0”

This play forms the centrepiece of the Generation Next Theatre (GNT) initiative, a collaborative endeavour by TheatreMania Africa aimed at nurturing creative leadership among Nigerian youth.

The event begins on 4th June 2026 with The Masters Circle, a mentorship session where students will receive guidance from a distinguished team including Dr. Sam Uche Anyamele FTA, Bukola Thomas, Mr. Julius Olaolu Oyekanmi, Paul Uwagbai, Alayande Stephen T., Mr. Tomiwa Songonnuga, and Dr. Ochuko Odesa.

The initiative culminates on 5th June with a live performance of “WHISPERS 4.0”, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their newly acquired skills in a professional-grade production.

“Theatre is a collaborative journey, and through WHISPERS 4.0, we are inviting students to walk that path alongside professionals,” said Alayande Stephen T. “We are grateful to Corona Secondary School for their vision in embracing this initiative.”

All arrangements are in place for the students of CSS, Agbara, to experience an immersive creative stage production coupled with a well-curated mentorship session.

Reflecting on the upcoming mentorship event, Dr. Sam Uche Anyamele FTA remarked, “I am eager to see the transformation in these students as they move from the Master Circle to the spotlight. This is where confidence is built and stars are born.”

Whispers is an award winning stage play with a thematic thrusts of love with cultural family feud in the Nigerian setting.

In summary, the play mirrors the cultural dichotomy and beliefs in our society. These are issues the Nigerian families have encountered over time as the actors deliver the plot through, drama, dance and comedy. It is didactic, hilarious and entertaining in nature.
