Without A Box Founder Theodore Nyingifa Named PR Personality of the Decade

Marketing Edge, a Nigerian marketing communications publication and organiser of the annual Edge Awards, has named Theodore Nyingifa, Managing Director and Lead Consultant of Without A Box, PR Personality of the Decade at the 2026 Edge Awards. The ceremony was held at 10 Degrees Events Centre in Oregun, Ikeja.
The award recognises Nyingifa’s contributions to the growth and practice of public relations and marketing communications in Nigeria.
With more than 16 years of experience across public relations, strategic communications, media, content, digital marketing, experiential marketing, talent management and brand activation, Nyingifa has built a career focused on strategic thinking, creativity and execution. His work reflects a commitment to helping brands connect with audiences and deliver effective communications.
Before founding Without A Box in 2016, Nyingifa worked with several media and marketing communications organisations, including Sigma Emperor Magazine, Purrples Consult, Pulse.com.ng, Ringier Media and Brooks and Blake. He contributed to campaigns and projects for brands such as MTN, GSK, Guinness and PZ Cussons, gaining experience across the communications sector.
Since its founding, Without A Box has grown into a communications partner for organisations including PZ Cussons, PZ Wilmar, Bord Bia, NNPC, Flour Mills of Nigeria, Bet9ja, ValueJet, Ornua and Olam Agri. Under Nyingifa’s leadership, the agency has delivered services spanning public relations, media relations, digital marketing, influencer and talent management, brand activations, crisis communications and stakeholder engagement.
Nyingifa has also explored ways to connect brands, consumers, entertainment and culture. In 2025, he conceived and served as Chief Organiser of Drinks Fest Lagos, a lifestyle and experiential platform bringing beverage brands and consumers together while celebrating Lagos’ nightlife culture. The inaugural event was endorsed by the Lagos State Government and attracted more than 1,000 attendees.
Speaking on the recognition, Theodore described the award as both a personal milestone and an acknowledgement of the collective effort behind his work.
“This recognition is both an honour and a reminder of the responsibility we have as communications professionals to keep pushing boundaries, challenging conventions and creating meaningful value for brands and the industry. My journey has been shaped by collaboration, continuous learning and a belief that effective communication goes beyond visibility to building trust, relevance and lasting connections. I share this recognition with the teams, partners and clients who have been part of that journey.”
Throughout his career, Nyingifa has advocated for a broader approach to marketing communications—one that goes beyond visibility to deliver clarity, relevance, meaningful audience connections and measurable results. His experience across traditional and emerging platforms continues to shape his approach to brand-building and audience-focused experiences.
The PR Personality of the Decade award marks a significant milestone in Nyingifa’s career and recognises his contribution to the evolving practice of public relations and marketing communications in Nigeria.
