Young Heroes Shine as Curtains Close on 17th Indomie Heroes Awards
Dufil Prima Foods, the producer of Indomie Instant Noodles, has wrapped up the 17th edition of its flagship CSR initiative, the Indomie Heroes Awards (IHA). This esteemed platform recognizes Nigerian children who demonstrate exceptional bravery, compassion, and ingenuity.
The grand finale took place in Lagos under the theme “Unsung Heroes,” highlighting three remarkable young Nigerians whose inspiring stories embody courage and noble character. From October 11 to 13, 2025, millions of Nigerians tuned in to national broadcasts to witness the heartfelt tales of these young champions.
After a rigorous nationwide selection process—comprising community interviews, school validations, and third-party research—three winners emerged: Abraham Umoren, 9, from Akwa Ibom State, who triumphed in the Physical Bravery category; Ismail Muhammad, 13, from Kwara State, in the Social Bravery category; and Hassan Adamu, 15, from Yobe State, in the Intellectual Bravery category. These heroes were chosen from thousands of nominations through extensive verification by independent agencies commissioned by Dufil Prima Foods.
Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Dufil Prima Foods, remarked, “Each year, we are inspired by the courage, ingenuity, and compassion of Nigerian children. The Indomie Heroes Awards is more than just a ceremony; it reflects the future of Nigeria. These stories remind us that heroism is not age-dependent but rooted in selfless acts that uplift others.”
The young winners expressed gratitude and joy for their recognition. Abraham Umoren shared, “We never expected this. Thank you, Indomie, for seeing us. I will keep helping others as much as I can.”
For the first time, the 2025 edition introduced a new state-level recognition for runners-up in each category, broadening the initiative’s reach to celebrate more young changemakers nationwide.
Since its launch in 2008, the Indomie Heroes Awards has celebrated 59 Nigerian youths, awarded millions of naira in scholarships, and amplified stories of courage, empathy, and social responsibility. The nationwide broadcast of the event continues to inspire hope and resilience across communities, reaffirming Dufil Prima Foods’ commitment to nurturing Nigeria’s future leaders.
