YP4T Empowers 1,200 Young Nigerians through Workshops, Grants
In a significant move to engage young Nigerians in shaping their nation’s future, Young Professionals for Tinubu (YP4T) recently hosted a Civic Participation Workshop attended by 1,200 enthusiastic participants. This initiative aims to empower the youth with essential knowledge and skills to become active contributors to Nigeria’s development, aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision for economic transformation.
The workshop offered a rich program of interactive sessions covering vital topics such as policy making, advocacy, digital citizenship, leadership, public speaking, and the intricacies of government and constitutional law. Participants had the chance to interact with experienced facilitators, pose important questions about their roles in political and civic life, and receive practical advice on making impactful contributions to the nation.
A key takeaway from the event was the emphasis on the increasing number of young Nigerians reaching voting age, with facilitators urging them to register and participate in elections. This underscores the belief that active civic engagement starts with exercising the fundamental right to vote, ensuring that young voices are heard in the political arena.
The workshop culminated in an engaging panel discussion led by YP4T Regional Director, Mr. Alex Oware, who conversed with Mr. Wale Fadare, Personal Assistant to the President on General Duties. They discussed the essential elements of nation-building and the critical role of youth involvement. Mr. Fadare remarked, “True transformation is a collective effort. Young Nigerians possess the energy and vision necessary for change, and it’s vital that we work together to build a stronger, more resilient nation. Engaging in civic responsibilities, including understanding governance and ensuring voter registration, is crucial.”
This event marks a pivotal moment for YP4T, which has now surpassed 3,000 registered young professionals committed to supporting President Tinubu’s policies. The growing community reflects a shared dedication to ensuring that young people are not only recipients of development but also key architects in Nigeria’s progress.
In addition to the workshop, YP4T announced an upcoming Educational Grant Program aimed at supporting 100 final-year secondary school students across Nigeria with funding for their final examinations. This initiative seeks to eliminate financial obstacles for talented students, empowering them to complete their education and contribute positively to the country’s growth.
Alex Oware, Regional Director for YP4T, emphasized the significance of this grant, stating, “Education is the foundation upon which strong nations are built. By supporting 100 young Nigerians in their final year of secondary school, we are investing not just in their futures but in the future of the country itself. This grant represents a crucial opportunity for these students to complete an important stage of their education, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s progress.
