With the spontaneous success of The Voice Nigeria, Airtel has unveiled The Voice Africa, a platform to showcase burden talents across 14 African countries.

The countries that will be joining the maiden edition of Airtel’s pan African music competition, The Voice Africa are
Seychelles, Nigeria, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Madagascar, Gabon, Uganda, Niger, Chad, DRC, and Congo with $100,000 to be won by the Winner of the show.

Speaking at the press conference to unveil the competition, Vice President, Corporate Communications & CSR, Airtel Africa, Emeka Opara said: “As a true African entity, we have always believed in Africa, as we have always done, and today’s event signals the commencement of a very exciting initiative for both the contestants and the viewing and voting public. Airtel Africa has provided this platform for our youths to showcase their talents and be the best they can be.”

“We are intentional and deliberate to empower our youths and enable them to channel their energies and great talents positively for their individual growth, and for the good of their families, communities, and indeed Africa. The debut season of The Voice Africa will be streamlined to millions of Africans via Airtel TV, Free to Air stations (FTAs) and paid channels across 14 countries in Africa. It is expected to attract and showcase the brightest of African musical talents, alongside a high-profile panel of coaches and TV hosts, and act as a launchpad for global recognition. Seven participants from each of the 14 countries will be selected to participate in the programme, with one of them eventually crowned The Voice Africa.

Across Africa, 100 talents will be shortlisted for auditions. The Voice Africa will commence with a call for virtual auditions on 19th October followed by live auditions later this year. The show will be broadcast in March 2023, with the grand finale taking place later in the year.

To enter, interested participants are required to do a one minute video of themselves, singing any song of their choice, and upload to The Voice Africa website www.voiceafrica.com.
