ARCON Launches Inaugural Journal of Advertising and Marketing Communications
The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) has officially launched the first edition of its ARCON Journal of Advertising and Marketing Communications (AJAMC), a comprehensive collection of research in various advertising fields.
The journal was officially unveiled during the second edition of its annual Advertising Industry Colloquium (AIC) held on 27th June 2024 in Lagos with the theme “Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Advertising Education and Practice in Nigeria.”
Unveiling the Journal, the Director General of ARCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo said the journal is a compendium of quality research works from academics and case studies from the industry which will help deepen the understanding of the advertising industry.
“One of the things we want to continue to do as members of the council and as part of our efforts to impact the industry and to train all stakeholders in advertising at all times and bring more people into the same platform.
“One of the greatest achievements over time from this journal is the fact that we even have foreign contributors, for the first edition, we have people from other countries who are pushing to be part of it, now we can imagine where this will go because, from this edition, this journal will be cited as an authority when you are doing your research, thesis and when you need to to make presentations or share relevant document,” he explained.
Speaking on the content of the journal, Prof. Rotimi Olatunji, Chairman of the Planning Committee and Editor-in-Chief, the Journal of Advertising said it is a comprehensive compilation of insightful and in-depth works contributed by stellar academics from around the globe, promises to enhance the body of knowledge within the advertising industry.
“I am privileged to be the editor-in-chief of the journal and it’s going to be the most authoritative on the African continent. In this Journal, the editorial has professors from all over Nigeria, Africa, and Africans in the diaspora; it also cuts across all sectors of the economy, including professionals in the industry, ” he stated.
