AXA Mansard Health Llnks Healthcare Access to Productivity and National Prosperity

AXA Mansard Health has used its Culture of Care campaign to highlight the role accessible healthcare can play in supporting workforce productivity, stronger communities and Nigeria’s economic development.
Speaking at the campaign launch, Tope Adeniyi, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Health, said care is not only a social value but also a contributor to human progress and economic growth. He said healthier individuals help build stronger families and more resilient communities.
“Care is often viewed through a social lens, but it also has significant economic implications,” he said. “When people have access to healthcare, they are more likely to remain healthy, productive, and able to contribute meaningfully to their families, workplaces, and communities.”
Adeniyi said healthcare costs and untreated illnesses can affect families’ financial stability, disrupt livelihoods and reduce productivity. He described access to healthcare as a national priority, as well as a personal necessity.
“Improving access to healthcare is one of the most effective ways to improve quality of life and support economic development,” he said. “A healthy population is a productive population. When people can access care early and affordably, they are better able to work, care for loved ones, pursue opportunities, and contribute to economic growth.”
The campaign recognises the contributions of caregivers, including parents, people supporting ageing relatives, healthcare workers and employers supporting their staff. Adeniyi said caregivers also need support, and identified accessible healthcare as one way to help sustain a culture of care.
“Care cannot thrive without support systems,” he said. “One of the most practical ways society can support caregivers is by ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible, affordable, and available when it is needed.”
As Nigeria works to expand healthcare access and advance Universal Health Coverage, AXA Mansard Health said the private sector can help address access gaps through innovation, technology and inclusive healthcare solutions. The company said its offerings include health insurance, digital healthcare services and preventive health initiatives.
Adeniyi said the campaign is intended to encourage a broader conversation about the place of care in society and its connection to progress.
“This campaign is a reminder that care should remain at the centre of how we think about progress,” he said. “When societies invest in the health and wellbeing of their people, they create the conditions for stronger businesses, more resilient communities, and sustainable prosperity.”
AXA Mansard Health said it hopes to draw attention to how healthcare access can contribute to individual wellbeing, productivity and national development.
“Care is one of society’s greatest assets,” Adeniyi added. “And when care is supported by accessible healthcare, its impact extends far beyond health outcomes. It becomes a catalyst for human progress.”
