Brand Communicator Shines At ADVAN Awards, As Reporter Wins Brand Journalist of the Year
To further reinforce its leadership as the number one brands and marketing publication in Nigeria, Brand Communicator won big at the 2019 ADVAN Awards for Marketing Excellence where its Senior Reporter, Azeez Disu emerged the Brand Journalist of the year.
The award is the biggest award aimed at rewarding journalists for their excellent contents and news reportage on brands and marketing industry. Asides rewarding brand journalists, the award seeks to reward marketing professionals that have made outstanding contributions to the profession.
Disu was recognised for his originality, consistency and dexterity in his writing skills and wonderful write ups in Brand Communicator which addressed the salient issues in the industry.
Delighted Disu said he wouldn’t rest on his oars as the award would spur him to do more and continue to deliver wonderful news contents.
Showing his appreciations, he thanked Brand Communicator’s Publisher, Joshua Ajayi and the management team for giving him a voice through the publication and for their support over the years.
He equally thanked his Editor, Tunji Faleye and other team members for their support and encouragement.
According to him, “I am grateful to God for this win. I am also grateful to Brand Communicator, the platform which I represent, thanks to my publisher Joshua Ajayi; my Editor, Tunji Faleye and other team members for their support, without them and the voice given to me by Brand Communicator I wouldn’t be a winner today,” he said.
Disu is a creative writer with over a decade of reporting brands and marketing, SMEs, energy, ICT, money market, and entertainment. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogun State and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Kebbi State.
He is a member of Brand Journalists’ Association of Nigeria (BJAN) and United Nations Association of Nigeria (UNAN).
The publication he works for, Brand Communicator is Nigeria’s most consistent brand and marketing communications magazine. It is also the organiser of Women in Marketing and Communications Conference/Awards (WIMCA), the largest gathering of female marketing and communications professionals in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
