Committee Chair Yinka Adebayo Promises an Inclusive and Memorable ARCON Awards Ceremony
Yinka Adebayo, the Chairman of the recently inaugurated ARCON Special Recognition Awards Committee, has expressed confidence that the upcoming awards programme will be both inclusive and memorable. Speaking on the committee’s preparations, Adebayo, who is also the Group Executive Director, Omnicom Media Group West & Central Africa, emphasised the importance of fairness, transparency, and excellence in the process.
“We recognize the significance of this assignment and the expectations that accompany it. The committee will work diligently to ensure that every stage of the process reflects fairness, accountability, and excellence. We look forward to delivering an awards programme that commands the confidence and respect of stakeholders.”
Appointed by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON), the committee is tasked with developing the ARCON Special Recognition and Advertising Standards Panel (ASP) Awards framework, establishing nomination and assessment procedures, coordinating stakeholder engagement, supervising the selection process, and mobilising partnerships and sponsorship opportunities where necessary. Adebayo reassured that the committee members have been carefully selected based on their professional competence, industry experience, integrity, and commitment to excellence within Nigeria’s marketing communications sector.
In addition, the Director-General of ARCON, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, reaffirmed the council’s dedication to promoting excellence and fostering a culture of professionalism. He stated, “This commiůee has been entrusted with an important responsibiliơ. The credibiliơ of the awards will depend on a process that is transparent, inclusive, and guided by excellence. We are confident that the calibre of individuals appointed to serve will ensure that the awards remain a respected platform for recognising merit and inspiring higher standards across the industry.”
