Egbin Power Champions Performance Excellence, Celebrates Outstanding Talent at ERA 2026

Egbin Power, Nigeria’s largest power generation company, has once again demonstrated its commitment to recognising excellence within its workforce through the successful staging of the Employee Recognition Awards (ERA) 2026. The event celebrated the exceptional contributions of staff over the past year, highlighting the organisation’s dedication to fostering a culture of performance and achievement.
The vibrant awards ceremony brought together the management team and employees for an evening dedicated to honouring top performers across various departments. The event underscored Egbin Power’s core values of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Awards were presented to staff from diverse sectors—including Operations, Safety, Maintenance, Finance, Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Control, HR, Procurement, Capital Projects Delivery, IT & Business Innovation, and Support Services—showcasing the broad spectrum of talent that propels Egbin Power’s mission to deliver reliable power across Nigeria.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Top Performance Award. Amos Oshanugo of the Instrumentation & Control Department was recognised as the Top Performer and awarded a new Chery Tiggo 2 Pro SUV. Chidima Celestine of the Operations Department and Endurance Otaru of the Business Operations Department received first and second runners-up positions, respectively, each securing cash rewards.
In his address, Mokhtar Bounour, CEO of Egbin Power, stated: “At Egbin Power, we believe excellence is not an accident. It’s built through hard work, teamwork, and the courage to go beyond expectations. That’s why we are passionate about celebrating excellence, commitment, teamwork, and the people whose efforts continue to power Egbin forward every single day.

He further acknowledged that the collective dedication of the entire team underpins the company’s ongoing success.
Oshanugo, the recipient of the grand prize, expressed his gratitude: “First, I give all glory to God for this incredible blessing and the grace to excel. I am deeply grateful to the Chairman of the Board, the management of Egbin Power, and our leadership for this profound recognition and reward. My heartfelt thanks go to the Instrumentation & Control Department and the entire Egbin Power staff. This milestone belongs to all of us because at Egbin, we work as a team, and teamwork is truly the key to our success.”

Otaru also expressed her appreciation: “Receiving this recognition inspires me to continue raising the bar, embracing new challenges, and contributing to the achievement of Egbin Power’s strategic objectives. This award is particularly meaningful because it reflects not only individual effort but also the support, collaboration, and encouragement of my colleagues and my Head of Department. I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to my professional growth and success.”
